Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground lamb
- 1/4 cup dried figs
- 1 minced garlic clove
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- salt and pepper
- Oil for greasing
- 4 small pitta breads, toasted
Method:
- Mix the ground lamb, figs, garlic, cumin, paprika and thyme until everything is blended well. Shape into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper and spray/coat lightly with the oil.
- Broil or grill the burgers for 5 minutes each side and until the juices run clear. Serve open-face in the warmed pitta.
- This will go great with a mint yoghurt which can be made by mixing fresh mint leaves into greek yoghurt.
Suggested burger topping: make a meal of this dish by serving with a Couscous salad. More burger toppings.
