Basic Grilled Turkey Burgers
By admin • Dec 11th, 2007 • Category: Burger RecipesThese Basic Grilled Turkey Burgers are perfect for outdoor grilling because the patties are kept moist by mayo and Dijon mustard. You can also add an extra sweetness to these Grilled Turkey Burgers by coating them with marmalade before cooking.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 pounds lean ground turkey
- 1/2 small onion, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- salt, to taste
- Your choice of cheese slices
- 2 tablespoons orange marmalade (optional)
Method:
- Combine the ground turkey with the onion, basil, parsley, mayo, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Mix well using your hands but be careful not to ‘over mix’ or else the patties will be too sloppy.
- Shape the turkey mixture into 4 patties around 1 inch thick and grill on a lightly oiled rack over medium-high heat until they are cooked through, usually 6-7 minutes each side. Remove from grill and rest for 5 minutes.
- For an even juicier grilled turkey burger you can brush the patties with orange marmalade before grilling, this will give them a sweet barbecue taste.
Turkey Burger Tip: these will go great with a homemade creamy coleslaw.

This was a fantastic burger! I love to cook and have done some pretty amazing recipes. These burgers were full of flavour and juicy. I served them with sauteed onion, garlic and stop light peppers. Low fat and good! I would serve them to company.

I have never made turkey burgers before. These were excellent! So fresh and mild tasting. I used lettuce leaves to wrap around them instead of a roll. Made for an extra healthy and delicious burger.
