Cajun Burgers
By admin • Dec 9th, 2007 • Category: Burger RecipesThis Cajun Burgers recipe is packed with warm Louisiana flavors from the Creole seasoning and hot sauce, and all topped off with lots of fried onions.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 1/2 medium bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 small beaten egg
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce
- 5 drops of extra hot sauce
- 2 teaspoon Creole/Cajun seasoning
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Fried onions for topping
Method:
- Combine all but the fried onions in a large bowl and mix well. Allow the mixture to rest for 2-3 hours in the refrigerator, this will allow the flavors to infuse in the meat and make a really tasty Cajun burger.
- Shape the mixture into 4 patties and Broil or Grill them for around 4 minutes on each side or until the meat is cooked through.
- Serve on regular burger buns and top with fried onions. To make fried onions, simply thinly slice 1 medium onion and fry it gently in a little butter until they turn golden.
Suggested burger topping: try lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream to help cool things down. More burger toppings.
