Chipotle Burgers

By admin • Dec 9th, 2007 • Category: Burger Recipes

These chipotle Burgers are full of heat from the smoked chilis and cumin. If you like Jalapeños then give these burgers a try for something different.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 chipotle chilis, from can
  • 2 tablespoons of adobo sauce
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon of oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns
  • hot sauce for topping

Method:

  • Combine the beef with the rest of the ingredients and mix well. If you have time, allow the mixture to rest for 1-3 hours in the refrigerator. This will ensure the heat from the chipotle chilis is evenly spread throughout the meat.
  • Shape the beef mixture into 4 patties and Broil/Grill/Fry each burger for 4 minutes on each side or until the meat is fully cooked.
  • Serve on toasted burger buns with lots of hot sauce and your choice of melted cheese.

Suggested burger topping: try refried beans, guacamole and sour cream. More burger toppings.
