German Burgers
By admin • Dec 10th, 2007 • Category: Burger RecipesThese German Burgers make a change from the usual burger, with mustard and caraway seeds in the beef and topped off with lots of sauerkraut.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tablespoon of mustard
- 2 tablespoon of beer
- 1/2 teaspoon caraway seeds
- salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices Muenster or Swiss cheese
- 6 onion/rye rolls
- 1/2 cup drained sauerkraut as topping
Method:
- Combine the beef with the bread crumbs, mustard, beer, caraway seeds and salt and pepper and mix well. If you have time, allow the mixture to rest for 1-3 hours in the refrigerator.
- Shape the beef mixture into 4 patties and Broil/Grill/Fry each burger for 4 minutes on each side or until the meat is fully cooked.
- Serve on onion rolls or rye rolls with lots of the sauerkraut and melted cheese.
Suggested burger topping: try more mustard. More burger toppings.
