These Mediterranean lamb burgers are a personal favorite, they are full of earthy flavors that taste so exotic it makes you want to travel to the Mediterranean and taste more.

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1/4 cup dried figs
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • Oil for greasing
  • 4 small pitta breads, toasted

  • Mix the ground lamb, figs, garlic, cumin, paprika and thyme until everything is blended well. Shape into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper and spray/coat lightly with the oil.
  • Broil or grill the burgers for 5 minutes each side and until the juices run clear. Serve open-face in the warmed pitta.
  • This will go great with a mint yoghurt which can be made by mixing fresh mint leaves into greek yoghurt.

Suggested burger topping: make a meal of this dish by serving with a Couscous salad. More burger toppings.
