Mild Spiced Turkey Burgers

By • Dec 11th, 2007 • Category: Burger Recipes

This Mild Spiced Turkey Burger recipe gives the plain old turkey burger a bit of heat, but not too much! It’s the chipotle hot sauce, ground cumin and black pepper that does it.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 pounds lean ground turkey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup mild salsa
  • 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped shallots
  • 1 tablespoon chipotle hot sauce
  • salt, to taste
  • 2 table spoons of oil

Method:

  • Simply combine the cumin, black pepper, salsa, cilantro, shallots, hot sauce, salt and oil with the lean ground turkey in a large bowl and mix well. If you want to increase the spice in this turkey burger recipe then use hot salsa instead of mild.
  • Shape into 4 patties with you hands and and fry the burgers in a little oil until cooked through, usually 4-5 minutes each side.
  • These are best served on any crusty bread and topped with more salsa.

Turkey Burger Tip: to cut down the calories even more don’t add the oil to the burger mixture.
