Mild Spiced Turkey Burgers
By burrger • Dec 11th, 2007 • Category: Burger RecipesThis Mild Spiced Turkey Burger recipe gives the plain old turkey burger a bit of heat, but not too much! It’s the chipotle hot sauce, ground cumin and black pepper that does it.
Ingredients:
- 1 1/4 pounds lean ground turkey
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup mild salsa
- 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 cup finely chopped shallots
- 1 tablespoon chipotle hot sauce
- salt, to taste
- 2 table spoons of oil
Method:
- Simply combine the cumin, black pepper, salsa, cilantro, shallots, hot sauce, salt and oil with the lean ground turkey in a large bowl and mix well. If you want to increase the spice in this turkey burger recipe then use hot salsa instead of mild.
- Shape into 4 patties with you hands and and fry the burgers in a little oil until cooked through, usually 4-5 minutes each side.
- These are best served on any crusty bread and topped with more salsa.
Turkey Burger Tip: to cut down the calories even more don’t add the oil to the burger mixture.
