Stuffed Mushroom Burgers

Recipe Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 5 ounces sliced mushrooms
- 3 tablespoons of finely chopped onion
- 1 beaten egg
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- knob of butter
- salt and pepper
- your choice of cheese slices
- 4 burger buns
Method:
- Combine the beef, onion, egg, bread crumbs and salt and pepper in a large bowl and mix well. Sauté the sliced mushrooms with the butter in a skillet until they are tender and begin to brown.
- Shape the beef mixture into 8 patties and place a layer of the cooked mushrooms over 4 of them. Now place the other patties on top and seal carefully around the edges so the join is not visible.
- Broil/Grill each burger for 5 minutes on each side or until the meat is fully cooked.
- Serve in toasted burger buns with a strong garlic butter.
Suggested burger topping: try lettuce and a strong garlic mayo. More burger toppings.
