Sun Dried Tomato Burgers

These Sun-Dried Tomato Burgers are perfect for a summer barbecue, the sun-dried tomato in the patty will keep the meat nice and juicy. These are served with Balsamic onions.


  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup chopped Sun-Dried Tomatoes, oil packed
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoons dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 burger buns

Balsamic Onions:

  • 1 large thinly sliced onion
  • 2 tablespoons of oil from sund-dried tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons of Balsamic Vinegar


  • Combine the beef, chopped sun-dried tomatoes, chopped onion, basil, cumin, and salt and pepper in a large bowl and mix well. Let the mixture rest in the refrigerator for 1-3 hours to allow the flavors to blend.
  • To make the balsamic onions, heat the oil from the sun-dried tomatoes in a heavy skillet and throw in the thinly sliced onion and sauté for about 10 minutes or until you see the onion begin to brown. Next, add the Balsamic vinegar and allow to simmer for another 10 minutes and until the mixture turns and dark brown color.
  • Shape the beef mixture into 4 patties and barbecue/grill/broil each burger for 5 minutes on each side or until the meat is fully cooked.
  • Serve in a regular burger bun with your choice of cheese and the Balsamic Onions.
  • Suggested burger topping: try regular fried onions instead of the balsamic onions. More burger toppings.
