This lamb sliders recipe is pretty simple, really. And if you want, you can substitute ground beef, turkey or ground chicken instead of using lamb.

Lamb Sliders Recipe
These sliders are topped with melted cheese, bacon and a special chipotle mayonnaise.


  • 1 lb to 1 1/2 lbs. of ground lamb
  • 1 oz of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked
  • 2 tbsp of mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp of chipotle pepper
  • salt and pepper
  • 8 small rolls, about 2? round


Season the lamb, or whatever meat you want to use, with salt and pepper. Form the meat into patties. The meat should be enough for around 8 to 10 slider patties.

Cook the patties on a grill pan or skillet for 4-5 minutes. Then flip them over and add the shredded cheese and bacon on top of each patty and cook for another 4 or 5 minutes.

To make the chipotle mayonnaise just mix the chipotle powder into the mayonnaise thoroughly.

Toast the rolls slightly, spread the chipotle sauce on, add the patty and another roll on top and you’re ready to go.

If what you’re after is the taste alone and not how simple it’s done, this one is for you. A bit complicated to do because of the long list of ingredients, but you will definitely be rewarded once you taste your first bite.

Spiced Lamb Burgers

Ingredients for the burgers:

  • 1 1/2 pounds of ground lamb
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 medium yellow onion, peeled
  • A handful of bread crumbs, plain
  • 1 small red chili pepper, seeded and minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon of extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of allspice
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 red onion, peeled and sliced thinly (garnish)
  • 1/2 small red cabbage, shredded (garnish)
  • 4 large soft pitas

Ingredients for the yogurt dressing:

  • 1 cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 large clove of garlic, peeled
  • 1/4 cup of mint leaves, minced

Make the lamb burgers:

Put your ground lamb in a bowl and grate the yellow onion directly on it. Also add your spices (cinnamon, cumin, allspice), chili pepper, salt and pepper, plus the egg and bread crumbs. Mix thoroughly in order to completely combine the flavors.

Once mixed, form them lamb meat into patties.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the patties on the skillet and cook for about 10 minutes. Turn the patties only once. Set aside when cooked.

Make the yogurt dressing and serve:

Put the yogurt in a small bowl. Grate the garlic with a zester and add to the yogurt. Now sprinkle in the mint and stir.

Cook the pitas until they are soft brown and put the patties in. Dress your burger with your mint and garlic yogurt on top. Add the shredded cabbage and sliced red onion.

You can also serve the yogurt on the side and allow your guest to determine how much dressing to put in.

These are burgers made out of ground lamb, so they’re called lamburgers. They make a delicious alternative to having a gyro or a plain ol’ beef burger. feta

Give them a Greek twist with some feta cheese, too.


4 large unpeeled garlic cloves
1 1/4 pounds ground lamb
1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 large cucumber, peeled, grated and squeezed very dry in a clean towel
3/4 cup sour cream
1 tablespoon minced fresh mint leaves
1 teaspoon red or rice wine vinegar
1 clove garlic, minced
4 large, thin tomato slices
4 large, thin tomato slices
4 small (4 inch) pita breads


  • Set 4 whole garlic cloves in a small skillet over medium-high heat and toast for 5 minutes. Cool until you can hold, then peel, mince and set aside.
  • Break up lamb in a medium bowl. Add roasted garlic, feta, oregano, salt and pepper over meat and stir until combined.
  • Make in to four patties and refrigerate.
  • Mix cucumber, sour cream, mint, vinegar, 1 minced clove of garlic, and salt and pepper to taste in a small bowl.
  • Refrigerate sauce until ready to serve.


  • Cook, turning only once, until done, about 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium to medium-well burgers.
  • Grill pitas until warm and split crosswise.
  • Spread a couple of tablespoons of sauce over 4 pita halves.
  • Top each with an onion slice, a tomato slice and a burger. Spread a portion of the remaining sauce over each burger and cover with pitas.

  • 1 pound ground beef or lamb
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander seeds
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 gloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped cilantro
  • 4 burger buns


  • Combine the beef with the rest of the ingredients and make sure the chopped cilantro is distributed evenly. If you have time, allow the mixture to rest for 1-3 hours in the refrigerator.
  • Shape the beef mixture into 4 patties and Broil/Grill/Fry each burger for 4 minutes on each side or until the meat is fully cooked.
  • Serve on toasted burger buns with lots of salad and mint yoghurt.

Suggested burger topping: goes great with mint yoghurt or mango chutney. More burger toppings.

  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 large cucumber, peeled, grated and squeezed very dry in a clean towel
  • 1/2 lb sour cream
  • 2 tbs minced fresh mint leaves
  • 1 tsp red or rice wine vinegar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 small (4 inch) pita breads


  • Begin by roasting the 4 whole garlic cloves until browned. This can be done in a hot oven for 20-25 minutes or 10-15minutes in a skillet. Peel, mince and set aside.
  • Break up the lamb in a medium bowl. Sprinkle roasted garlic, feta, oregano, salt and pepper over meat and stir with a fork to combine well. Divide into 4 portions and flatten to about 4 inches wide. Refrigerate until required.
  • To make the Greek topping mix the cucumber, sour cream, mint, vinegar, 1 minced clove of garlic, and salt and pepper to taste in a small bowl. Refrigerate sauce until ready to serve.
  • Fry the burgers in a little oil for 5-7 minutes each side and grill the pita breads for a minute or so per side. Split crosswise. Spread a couple of tablespoons of sauce over 4 pita halves. Top each with an onion slice, a tomato slice and a burger. Spread a portion of the remaining sauce over each burger. Top with remaining pita halves.

This is a gourmet burger recipe full of authentic Greek flavors and a cool Greek salad style topping.

  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1/4 cup dried figs
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • salt and pepper
  • Oil for greasing
  • 4 small pitta breads, toasted


  • Mix the ground lamb, figs, garlic, cumin, paprika and thyme until everything is blended well. Shape into 4 patties and season with salt and pepper and spray/coat lightly with the oil.
  • Broil or grill the burgers for 5 minutes each side and until the juices run clear. Serve open-face in the warmed pitta.
  • This will go great with a mint yoghurt which can be made by mixing fresh mint leaves into greek yoghurt.

Suggested burger topping: make a meal of this dish by serving with a Couscous salad. More burger toppings.
