With two types of hot peppers this recipe should come with a warning! Perfect for those who like heat in every mouthful. Our Spicy Cheeseburger Soup Recipe serves 6.

  • 4 quarter pound spicy burger patties
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon granules
  • 2 cups cubed potatoes
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup freshly chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped carrots
  • 1 fresh jalapeño pepper, minced
  • 1/3 cup chopped celery
  • 8 oz Velveeta processed cheese
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • salt to taste

  • This is best done in a Dutch oven, if you don’t have one use a large heavy bottomed skillet. Combine the 4 quarter pounder spicy burgers together with your hands and flatten them out. Sauté in the Dutch oven over a medium heat until it is evenly browned through. Drain and set aside.
  • Now throw the cubed potatoes, carrots, onion, green peppers, jalapeño peppers, celery, minced garlic, beef bouillon and salt all into the dutch oven and add the water. Bring to the boil then reduce the heat and simmer for around 20 minutes or until the potatoes are soft and tender.
  • Now add the cooked burger meat and stir in 2 cups of the milk and the chili powder. Gently heat through.
  • In a small glass bowl, stir the flour into the remainder of the milk until smooth. Gently add this to the soup while mixing, bring to the boil and cook for 2 minutes while stirring. All of the flour mixture should cook to make the soup thick and creamy.
  • Reduce the heat or remove from the heat and add the cheese straight away. Mix and watch the cheese melt away, do not boil.
